I’m, sad enough to say it, an old timer in the realm of skateboarding and Protec has always been a company of refined products. When you order from Protec you not only will receive the highest quality gear on the market but a warranty and style that can back up their products. Purchasing from Protec will put you at ease when you know the best safety gear on the market is protecting yourself, your children and your friends. They will also look good while doing it for a very long time. I finally had to purchase new equipment after 20 years on a board due to age and weight gain but aside from that they have held up the test of time. A few scuffs and some worn threads but still protecting me to this day until I purchased these new Santa Cruz pads and I’m going to love them just the same. You cannot go wrong with Protec!

Elbow pad strap ripped on first use!!!

The elbow pad strap ripped the first day I used the pads. They seemed nice otherwise, but pretty disappointed overall, since the elbow pad is no good.

Stylish protection!

These pads look awesome and keep you protected if you're having a mid-life crisis and stepping into BMX action in your mid-40s! I feel safe sending it with these things on. One word of advice, if you're on the upper end of the sizing chart range, size up.

Huge hit!

Our grandson loved his new helmet and pads because he is “cool” in his new gear. His parents (and grandparents, too) loved his gifts because of the safety features - highly recommended by all ages!

Good protection, coverage, value

Adult skateboarder using the set in small to medium concrete vert park.

Intentionally bought this set for a less bulky fit alternative to Protec Pro or the other leading "pro" brand.

In my opinion this street package offers adequate knee protection for 2-5 knee slides per session for someone staying at lip or coping level and not doing 10+ ft bowls or airs of any kind. I'm using on features up to 8ft or so -- assuming you know how to knee slide.

The biggest risk with this set is the pad sliding down during a fall or knee slide and experiencing scrape or impact exposure.

My only real negative comments are there seems to be some changes vs the earlier version of Protec pads I had -- not sure if those were earlier version of street or vert pads though for fair comparison. A little less padding than the earlier version particularly on the area above and below the plastic cup. The earlier version had a little more coverage above or below the straps and helpful belt loops which kept the elastic straps over the back fabric and not your skin. I also prefer closed back for knee pads that earlier version had.

Already sprained my ankle real bad :( these protected me well, specifically the kneepads, I slid and fell back grinding the metal ring quite a bit 🫪 but the actual hard part is holding up well, simple scratches.

Great for a 40 year old

Firstly, I love the blue color. Allows me to have some personality without being too crazy. Everything fits really well and stays secure without being uncomfortable. Once I had everything strapped on, I very rarely had to readjust or retighten. After a few minutes the pads kind of disappear, I forget I'm wearing them until I fall. After jumping back into skating after 20 years, I immediately took some spills and got to test out how well these pads work. I fell many times. The wrist guards took the most abuse, and I'm impressed. No injuries to report! Nothin bad to say. Great fit, look, and helps me feel more confident while learning to skate.

Middle aged woman tried skateboarding

I’ve always wanted to skateboard and I’m finally giving it a go. I took a lesson at a skate park and they let me borrow pads. They had these pro-tec ones they fit me really well so I decided to get a set of my own. I’ve fallen a number of times and these pads really help lessen the blow.

Size Inclusive! Highly Recommend

I tried so many pads and these are easily the best. I am a curvy girl who has been snowboarding for two decades and getting into surf skate. I couldn’t find a brand that made size inclusive pads (which feels like a big missed opportunity). And these fit comfortably. Their customer service team is fantastic as well. Highly recommend.

Super tough but still comfortable!

We've used Pro-Tec pads for years and they always stand the test of time. They've saved many a busted kneecap, sprained wrist, or scraped up elbow. For my money they are also one of the most comfortable which matters when skating for hours at a time, day after day. I, and my 10 year old son swear by Pro-Tec helmets and pads.
