Pro-Tec Privacy Policy

Pro-Tec is committed to protecting the privacy of visitors to our Web site. Although we employ security measures that we believe are reasonable to protect the personal information of visitors to this Web site, we do not guarantee that our security measures will protect against the loss or misuse of your information. In addition, we do not guarantee the privacy of any information that you may transmit over the Internet or otherwise.

Types of Information

A “Cookie” is an element of data that a Web site can send to your browser when you link to that Web site. It is not a computer program and has no ability to read data residing on your computer or instruct it to perform any step or function. By assigning a unique data element to each visitor, the Web site is able to recognize repeat users, track usage patterns and better serve you when you return to that site. The Cookie does not extract other personal information about you, such as your name or address.

General Information is information that does not itself reveal your identity. General Information may include, without limitation: generic business type; identifying codes; information derived from publicly available databases; user behavior on our Web site; and aggregated generic information.

Non-Public Personal Information is any non-public information you provide to us or our Partners that is proprietary or identifies or can be used to identify, contact, or locate you or someone at your business. Non-Public Personal Information may include, without limitation: name; address; phone number; e-mail address; credit card number; account information; spending patterns; and individual tastes and preferences.

What Information We Collect

Pro-Tec collects General Information and Non-Public Personal Information. When you visit our Web site, we collect certain information that does not identify you personally, but provides us with “usage data,” such as the number of visitors we receive or what pages are visited most often. This data helps us to analyze and improve the usefulness of the information we provide.

How We Collect and Use Information

Like most Web site owners, we may also use “Cookie” technology. Pro-Tec collects General Information through the use of “Cookies” and server-based tracking systems to view the usage of the Web site. Non-Public Personal Information will be collected through registration or contact forms from the Web site but will never be used for any purpose other than internal use and to share with those who assist us with our marketing efforts.
Further, we may also use what is known as “client-side page tagging,” which uses code on each page to write certain information about the page and the visitor to a log when a page is rendered by your Web browser. This technique is also commonly used on commercial Web sites. “Tagging” does result in a JavaScript program running on your computer, but it is limited to providing information about the page that you are requesting and the configuration of your browser. It will not read any of your data files, or execute any additional programs. It does not extract any personal information about you, such as your name or address. You can prevent tagging by disabling JavaScript in your browser, but that may prevent you from using all of our Web site’s functions.

Linking to Other Sites

From time to time, Pro-Tec may provide links to other Web sites, not owned or controlled by Pro-Tec, that we think might be useful or of interest to you. We cannot, however, be responsible for the privacy practices used by other Web site owners or the content or accuracy of those other Web sites. Links to various non- Pro-Tec Web sites do not constitute or imply endorsement by Pro-Tec of these Web sites, any products or services described on these sites, or of any other material contained in them.

Changes to this Statement

Pro-Tec may change this statement from time to time; when updates are made, the privacy policy version date (located at the top of this policy) will also be updated to reflect that a revision occurred. We encourage you to periodically reread this policy to see if there have been any changes that may affect you. This statement is not intended to and does not create any contractual or other legal rights in or on behalf of any party.
